SSC JE Syllabus

SSC JE exam involves two papers. Paper 1 is an objective paper while Paper 2 is a descriptive paper. The SSC JE Paper 1 The syllabus includes topics from General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness and Technical topics of the respective specialization of the candidate. In Paper 2, the candidates must solve the problems based on the topics from their respective specialization, i.e., Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering.

SSC JE CE Exam Pattern 

The SSC JE CE exam comprises a total of two papers. Check out the exam pattern from the details given below.

  • Subject 1 & 2 of Paper 1 are the same for all candidates.
  • Subject 3 is optional, candidates have to choose his/her subjects from Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical.
  • In both the paper 1&2 for General Engineering, a candidate will be required to attempt only the part as per the option given in the application form.
  • In Paper 1 there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
  • Paper 2 will be descriptive and will be conducted in pen and paper mode.
  • In Paper 2 a candidate has to choose his/her subjects from Civil/ Mechanical/ Electrical.
  • A candidate will be allowed to bring his/her own slide rule, Calculator, log table and steam table for Paper 2.
  • There will be no negative marking in Paper 2.
