The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted on behalf of University Grants Commission (UGC) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility of Assistant Professorship, Junior Research Fellowship, or both, for Indian Universities and Colleges. 

UGC NET Consist of 2 papers: Paper-1 is general Teaching and Research Aptitude, and Paper-2 is your subject specific. There is total 20 units including Paper-1 and 2.  

For an average student 6 months’ time are more than enough if you give at least 4-5 hours per day. 

You should target to complete the syllabus in three and half months and in remaining 2 and half months’ time you should revise the concepts and practice MCQs and previous year papers as much as you can.
